How we handle your details
The short version: we collect what we need to answer your request and arrange your stay, only the family can read it, and we never sell it or share it for advertising.
What we collect when you write to us
Your name, your email address and, if you give one, your phone number. The house you are asking about, your arrival and departure dates, how many adults and children are coming, the children's ages if you tell us, anything you write in the notes, how you would rather be answered (WhatsApp or email), and the language you read the site in. If you write to the assistant instead of the form, the same details arrive in the same request.
Why we collect it
To answer you, to send you an offer and to arrange your stay. When a request arrives, the host is alerted by email. Your details are not used to build a profile, and you are not added to any mailing list.
Who can see it
Your request is stored in this website's own database, and only the owner's account on the site can open it. For requests sent through this website there is no agency and no booking platform in the middle.
How long we keep it
While your stay is being arranged, and afterwards as part of our guest records, so that we recognise you if you come back. Ask us to delete your details and we will.
Payments
You pay for your stay on arrival at the property, to the host, and we confirm how you can pay with your offer. This website never asks for card details and takes no payment itself.
The automated assistant
Ask Mountain View is an automated assistant, not a person. When you write to it, your message is turned into a reply by the AI service of Base44, the platform this website runs on, and the conversation is kept there so the assistant can follow the thread. In your browser the conversation is held only for that visit and only in that tab, and the Clear button in the panel ends it. Please do not send anything you would not want a machine to read: for anything personal or urgent, use the phone or WhatsApp.
Maps, language and cookies
We set no advertising or tracking cookies. The site remembers the language you chose in your own browser. If you open the map, your browser loads map images from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address exactly as any website you visit would. Our platform keeps anonymous counts of which pages are read.
Your choices
Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. WhatsApp or a phone call is the quickest way, and both are on the contact page.
