About Mountain View

Mountain View is a family-run place to stay in Gusinje, a small mountain town in the north-east of Montenegro, on the edge of Prokletije National Park. We look after two houses: Mountain View Resort, our larger property with a garden, bungalows, a restaurant and a bar, and Hotel Mountain View, a small hotel in the town centre. We have been welcoming guests here for years, and most of them find us by word of mouth.

This website is our own booking office. It exists for the people who stay with us — families on holiday with children, hikers and climbers heading for the Grebaje valley, cyclists on the long routes through the Balkans, and travellers who simply want a quiet week in the mountains. Everything written here is for them: where the two houses are, what the rooms and the restaurant are like, how to get to Gusinje, when the trails are at their best, and what the valley offers beyond the door.

There is no agency in the middle. You send us a request with your dates, we reply with availability and a price, and you confirm by message. No booking fees, no commission, and the person who answers your email is the person who will meet you when you arrive.

The site is written and maintained by the family that runs the houses. We keep it deliberately simple: two properties, honest descriptions, our own photographs, and a direct line to us by form, phone or WhatsApp. If anything here does not match what you find on arrival, tell us — we would much rather put it right.
